Most people love to hate Betty - while I have always just loved her. She gets a ton of flack for her "parenting style," but I think it's because kids our age were raised by parents who encouraged "feelings" and "emotion." She's a lady of a different era, babes, and she is doing the best she can! Also, it's unspeakably glamorous to me that she lived at the Barbizon Hotel as a young model. Even if you don't like her (don't tell me if you don't because I LOVE her!), you've got to admit the girl can dress. And shoot.

She reminds me a little bit of my Grandmother (the one whose sweet duds I'm always wearing in HWSI). Is she childish? Sure. Needy? Duh. But girlfriend is also pretty tough, and definitely looked killer while taking Don Draper's nonsense for a cool decade.

The art of tying a scarf is unfortunately no longer taught in grammar schools (for shame!), so if you need as much help as I do, check out this video from Summer is a Verb, which will show you how to tie a scarf in a manner similar to Betty's!
Julia and I have both begun using Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! recently, and we're hooked - I mix mine in with Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer, and apply with my BeautyBlender sponge. Also, I think we can all agree that Betty would definitely use the same moisturizer as Grace Kelly, Erno Laszlo "Hollywood Collection" Refresh Moisture Infusion. Finally, the finishing touch for a modern-day Bets who doesn't want to go full-on red lipstick would be Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté in Frozen Cherry - it's a sheer, gorgeous red that is super moisturizing and can be layered for more intense color.

I honestly feel a bit happily/smug that she is a fatty right now, esp as IRL she is the reason the show got delayed for so long, by getting knocked up (not judging her on her personal decisions, just almost ruining the future of the show!)! But I am sure she will be back to being glamorous. Maybe she will go to a clinic for overweight women? Those were VERY popular back then.
