I'm so excited to introduce you to our Girl Crush of the Week, the fabulous Lauren Nelson of The Girls of Lincoln Park. I was inclined to love her blog based on the name alone, being a former Lincoln Park girl myself (and here, Allison pretends to flip her hair over her shoulders a la Cher, which is the visual interpretation of saying "it's like whatever"), and I upon checking it out, I was totally in love. - Style icon? Coco Chanel.. I mean where would women's fashion be today without her?
- Favorite book? I'm a teenager when it comes to reading.. Twilight, Hunger Games, etc. There's nothing better than not being able to put down a book! I download books to my iPhone now so I can read on the train.. or wherever I am for that matter!
- What perfume do you wear? Slightly obsessed when it comes to perfume. I just bought Chanel Coco Noir and Mon Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari. They're both great.
- Interior Design philosophy? I love this question! I think my number one philosophy when it comes to interior design is invest in pieces you love. Decorating doesn't have to be expensive, just surround yourself with products and pieces that inspire your day-to-day whether it's a coffee table book or a framed motivational quote. If you follow me on Pinterest, you have probably picked up on my obsession with prints.
- Best "hidden gem" store? Two of my favorite boutiques here in Chicago are Art Effect and Perchance. If you are from Chicago, you have probably heard of both of these stores but if you're not from the city, they are a great destination off of the hustle and bustle of Michigan Ave!
- Must-have beauty product? Hmmm... I wear this everyday. You can't go wrong with Laura Mercier. I also love Benefit Beauty's Refined Finish Facial Polish.
- Favorite song? Every time a song comes on the radio.. I'm the person that screams "this is my favorite song!!" Embarrassing, right? Anyways not sure if I have a favorite since they all seem to be.
- Secret addiction? Coffee. Although I don't think it's much of a secret! I'm quite open about it.
- Motto/Quote to live by? If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. And if you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.
- Favorite drink? I've recently been in to sparkling Rose.. Who doesn't love a little bubbly?
- My bracelet stack isn't complete without... I've been wearing this arrow bracelet from Stella and Dot lately!
- I get my sweat on by... We have a spin class here in Chicago called Fly Wheel which is located in the Gold Coast. Lady Gaga works out there..I'm just waiting for the class where she'll be next to me so I can tell her to read my blog.
